Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Farmhouse depicted on the Tithe Map; 1407 on the South Brent apportionment. Possible longhouse depicted behind (north-west) the farmhouse.

Much the same as the Tithe Map.

In 1086 the site of part of the Manor of Brenta, or South Brent. Held by the Abbott of Buckfast.


Worth, R. H., 1934 - 1938, The Dartmoor House, 25-6, plan (Article in Serial). SDV162908.

House built against the hall and as a result the central passage only had one entrance. The stairs were built in to the wall at the front of the house. Adjacent to the porch shippen remained in use but the internal doorway was built up.
