Summary

A large earth bank and ditch of unknown purpose. The bank is up to 1m high in places. On the western side there is a ditch, approximately 0.3m deep. The leat and channels associated with the shafts cut through the bank indicating that this feature is older. Recorded during walkover survey in October 2005.

Bank & ditch
A large earth bank and ditch of unknown purpose. The bank is up to 1m high in places. On the western side there is a ditch, approximately 0.3m deep. The leat and channels associated with the shafts cut through the bank indicating that this feature is older.
The feature is important in a local context. The bank and ditch should be kept free of scrub vegetation and excluded from areas of new planting.
