Summary

Shaft recorded during walkover survey in October 2005 associated with Holne Park Mine (later South Park Mine). An open shaft 5m in diameter located to the south-east of the engine shaft MDV133395. The purpose of the shaft is not clear but it may have provided ventilation to the underground workings. The upper leat (feature 15) empties into the shaft. The shaft is surrounded by a wire fence that is in a poor condition.

Shaft at SX 73306931.
An open shaft 5m in diameter located to the south-east of the engine shaft MDV133395. The purpose of the shaft is not clear but it may have provided ventilation to the underground workings. The upper leat (MDV133397) empties into the shaft.
The shaft is surrounded by a wire fence that is in a poor condition. The area should be avoided during forestry operations and excluded from any new planting.
