Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

East Mill marked. It is shown as a small farmstead, comprising a broadly L-shaped range of buildings. At the southern end is a square building, possibly the farmhouse, from which a rectangular building extends northwards. Adjoining this, forming the L-shape is a larger rectangular building, oriented broadly east-west. A small, square building is also shown off the north side of this building.
Recorded as 'House' on the Bishops Nympton Tithe Apportionment (Plot 1762). The adjoining plot (1763) is recorded as a garden.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Marked as East Mill, comprising two rectangular buildings forming an L-shape. The ?former farmhouse at the southern end is no longer shown.

Gilham, G., 2021, Structural inspection report for planning permission application purposes. Re-use of rural redundant building. Barn off of Silcombe Hill, Bish Mill, South Molton, Devon (Report - Survey). SDV365043.

Structural inspection report of a redundant bank barn undertaken in advance of an application to convert. The barn, of cob and stone, is built into sloping ground to the south, with the west, north and east walls forming retaining walls at ground level, built off bedrock. Only the western half of the roof remains now clad with slate and steel sheets. The first floor remains only at the west end.
The building originally extended southwards at the east end but collapsed following a vehicular impact. It is understood that the owner would like to rebuild this section.

Ordnance Survey, 2022, Mastermap 2022 (Cartographic). SDV364674.

Only the northern of the two buildings, aligned south-west to north-east is shown.
