Kaye, S., 2020, Roman road. Tavistock to Brent Tor (Interpretation). SDV365044.
The flanking ditches of a Roman road show well on the {2016] aerial photo. They are about 10.7m apart which appears to fit well with the average width of the road of 10m-12m.
Environment Agency, 2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Lidar visualisation (Cartographic). SDV366001.
A north to south aligned bank and flanking ditches are visible as linear earthworks,
Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.
A Roman road is visible on images derived from Lidar data as earthworks between Brent Tor and Pitland Coner, Brentor and Lamerton parishes.
The visible earthworks comprise a slightly raised bank or agger aligned roughly north to south, on either side of which flanking ditches or quarry pits are intermittently visible. The agger is on average approximately 8m wide, with the ditches or pits up to 3m wide. In total this stretch of road is visible as an earthwork for approximately 2.3km. It is likely that this section of road intersects with a second road to the east (MDV135643) at circa SX46967987.
Between SX469879426 m and SX4698879713 the earthwork corresponds to a possible field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map that formed part of the Brentor and Lamerton parish boundary.
