Full description
Marchand, J., 2003, Archaeology within Longtimber and Pithill Woods, 5 (Report - Survey). SDV365058.
Three small stone walled fields which once were used as pounds for stock being taken up and down from the high moor. Later granite gate posts at one of the entrances have feather and tare marks on them (i.e., post 1800).
Parts of the walls surrounding the small fields have been damaged by falling timber and stone robbing; would benefit from repair work before they deteriorate further.
