Full description

Marchand, J., 2005, Archaeology within Meldon Woods, 4 (Report - Survey). SDV365060.

The woods have been heavily coppiced, one charcoal burners platform with a 9m diameter was located at SX5663592871. It is very likely that there are other hearths to be identified within the wood, these are important in the local context of the woods.

Environment Agency WMS, 2021, Environment Agency LIDAR Composite DTM 2020 - 1m (Cartographic). SDV364513.

Circular feature visible on the lidar data.
