Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

The leat is depicted on the Tithe Map.

Mill Leat marked. A long leat, about 1.75km long, running from a weir on the River Thrushel at the north-eastern end of Townleigh Wood to a millpond above the mill.

The leat is largely still extant. Only a section across a field to the north of Hayne is now missing but new streams take the water directly back to the river on either side of the break.
