Name:Enclosure 'B' within settlement north-east of Wedlake Farm, Peter Tavy

Summary

Enclosure 'B' of 30 metres north-east to south-west with walls 2.2 metres wide and 0.3 metres high on the east side of the settlement to the north-east of Wedlake Farm and to the west of Colly Brook with several associated hut circles. Only the northern half of the enclosure wall is visible above ground, although the remainder of its circuit probably survives as a buried feature.

Enclosure 'B' at Wedlake settlement is a fragmentary feature to the east of the 'stream' with two or three associated hut circles. The walls are fragmentary and seem to have been poorly built with small stones piled against a single line of slabs.

This monument includes an enclosed stone hut circle settlement situated on a gentle south-facing slope of White Tor overlooking the valley of the Colly Brook. Thirteen stone hut circles are associated with three separate enclosures. The interior of the eastern enclosure measures circa 30 metres north-east to south-west and is defined by a wall of orthostatic construction 2.2 metres wide and 0.3 metres high. Only the northern half of the enclosure wall is visible above ground, although the remainder of its circuit probably survives as a buried feature.
