Full description
British Museum, 2023, Portable Antiquities Scheme, 2023, DEV-EE419B (Website). SDV365320.
(Found 2018) A Roman copper alloy sestertius, possibly of an Antonine Empress, dating to c. AD 139-182. The reverse appears to show a standing figure, flanked by S C. Mint of Rome. The coin has a fragile dark brown patina, with areas of bare reddish-brown alloy visible. The empresses in question are Faustina I, Faustina II, Lucilla and Crispina.
