Full description
British Museum, 2023, Portable Antiquities Scheme, 2023, CORN-CE7C31 (Website). SDV365320.
(Found 2014) Fragment of a cast copper alloy spur with a side that is hemispherical in section, with a lateral figure-eight terminal. One of the loops of the figure-eight terminal holds the hook of a stud chape which would in turn have attached to the undersole leather of the boot, to secure the spur. Date from: Circa AD 1650. Date to: Exactly AD 1750. See record for full detail.
