Full description
British Museum, 2023, Portable Antiquities Scheme, 2023, DEV-ADB308 (Website). SDV365320.
(Found 2017) Medieval copper alloy purse bar, almost complete, probably dating to c. AD 1450-1500. Has a central sub-spherical boss, 14.3mm wide, 13.0mm high, 15.2mm thick, traces of niello inlaid incised decoration surviving on one face, only small section visible; appears to be a lattice or zig-zag pattern, typical of the type.
