[DEV-37EC41] A small hoard of eleven Roman copper alloy coins. All the coins are second and early third century AD brass denominations known as sestertii and are considerably worn. The group stretches from the Emperor Hadrian (AD 117-38) to the Severan period covering the first quarter of the following century (the latest datable coin is from AD 224; the third regnal year of the emperor Severus Alexander, AD 222-35). Returned to finder but subsequently donated to Plymouth Museum.
