South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 214 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Rectangular building (agricultural or outbuilding) aligned south-east by north-west shown to the north-east of the cottage depicted in this plot. Apportionment records 'Cottage and Garden' in the same ownership as the Dartmoor Inn; occupied at this time by a Joseph Millman.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Building is unchanged on the late 19th century historic map; cottage is named Hope Cottage at this time.

Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

By the time of the early 20th century historic map, building has been extended, with a long, narrow rectangular extension on the northern end, creating a T-shaped structure. Adjacent cottage is now named 'Moor Gate'.

Ordnance Survey, 2023, Mastermap 2023 (Cartographic). SDV365227.

Modern mapping of the area shows the building (now in residential use) is named Lydgate Cottage and is smaller than the early 20th century historic map; the remaining dwelling now has an inverted L-shaped form but retains the oldest part of the built structure as shown on the Tithe Map.
