Summary

Row of terrace houses likely to date to the 17th century, similarly to Orchard Cottage (MDV33178), which forms the south-western end of the terrace. Depicted on historic maps from the 1840s Tithe Map onwards, the layout has remained consistent. The north-east end terrace property (number 4) has a mid-late 19th century extension constructed to the rear.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 64 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Depicted on the 1840s Tithe Map as a narrow range of dwellings set perpendicular to the road (plot 64: 'Cottage outhouses and garden'). South-eastern part of this range is covered by MDV33177 and MDV33178. No subdivisions shown on the Tithe Map.

The late 19th century historic map shows the subdivisions between numbers 1-4. At the end terrace (number 4) an extension has been constructed to the rear of the terrace, greatly extending the size of this property.
