HER Number:MDV134378
Name:1 and 3 The Square, Chagford

Summary

Pair of cottages date to at least the mid-late 19th century, based on cartographic evidence, but may have earlier origins. They occupy part of a larger building depicted on the 1840s Tithe Map; the current layout of buildings was established by the late 19th century historic map depiction when some replacement buildings were constructed in The Square to the south-west. These cottages may retain their original footprint as shown on the Tithe Map.
