Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 315 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The Tithe Map shows a large plot here: 315 on the apportionment 'Rack field and buildings', which is one of the sites owned as part of the Town and Mill Estates. The buildings consist of one very long, narrow building (117 metres in length) with a short wing projecting south at the north-western end, creating an L-shape. This lies in the north-western corner of the plot. Another building is depicted at the south-eastern end of the plot (MDV134383).

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Rackfield Cottage is depicted on the late 19th century historic map; an L-shaped building at the corner of the plot is all that now remains of the industrial building depicted on the Tithe Map.

Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

Largely unchanged from the late 19th century historic map.

Ordnance Survey, 2023, Mastermap 2023 (Cartographic). SDV365227.

'Huish' is depicted on the modern mapping.
