Summary

House dates to at least the early-mid 19th century, based on cartographic evidence. Depicted on the 1840s Tithe Map with two others adjoining, the later 19th century historic map shows this to be the only surviving property. Some alterations in the 20th century and additions including 38 Mill Street which now adjoins to the south-east.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 314 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The Tithe Map shows a large plot here: 314 on the apportionment 'Houses etc' and 'Cottage and gardens'. A range of three houses shown along the northern side of the plot bordering the road.

The late 19th century depiction indicates only a single house has survived by this time and stands as a detached property.

Some additions since the late 19th century historic map depiction; a new building has been added adjoining at the south-eastern end of this house.
