Summary
A leat runs along the top of the hill, apparently to Cowlins implying the site of a mill here. The fact that a nearby field is named as Mill Hams on the 19th century Tithe Apportionment lends support to this.

Full description
Weddell, P. J., Report. (Report - Survey). SDV23526.
Vis=19/1/1983 (weddell). The leat continues under the road (see ss91sw/36). There is a long rectangular brick building adjacent to the leat at cowlins.
TITHE 143, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV34840.
Mill hams (tithe 143). There is at this location a leat which runs along the top of the hill, apparently to cowlins implying a former mill (t. M. ). Leat appears to run from spring above higher pitt at ss92811559, and along the 122m contour (see also ss91nw/40) (os). Site is adjacent to preferred route of ndlr stage 2.
