Name:Ruined building at Foggintor Quarry

Summary

Small ruined building probably built over position of tramway route of a spoil tip (MDV134450) to the south-west of the former weighbridge (MDV28207). The building is 4.9m (NNE-SSW) by 3.14m externally. It has 0.54m thick walling and a doorway at the NNE end of the ESE-facing wall. It is now reduced to its footings, just c.0.3m above ground. The building first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey map, indicating that it was built between 1883 and 1904.

Building (ruin) at SX 56531 73573. Small ruined building probably built over position of tramway route of a spoil tip (MDV134450) to the south-west of the former weighbridge (MDV28207). The building is 4.9m (NNE-SSW) by 3.14m externally. It has 0.54m thick walling and a doorway at the NNE end of the ESE-facing wall. It is now reduced to its footings, just c.0.3m above ground. The building first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey map, indicating that it was built between 1883 and 1904.
The building is in very poor condition, being utterly ruinous and largely grass-covered. Its SSW and ESE sides are poorly defined. What little remains is at least stable.
