Building (ruin) at SX 56527 73220. Concrete floor of northwest-southeast aligned building, measuring about 3.4m x 2.37m. There is a wooden beam along the northwest side of the floor surface and a length of iron visible behind it and beneath the concrete. Some sloped concrete runs along the northeast edge of the floor surface - perhaps placed there while the building was in use to keep surface rainwater run-off away from the back wall footings. It appears likely that the walls of the building were of iron and/or wood. The concrete floor is located to the northwest of the intersection of a cart track (to/from Foggintor Quarry) with the Plymouth and Dartmoor Railway track bed at King Tor Halt. A building is shown upon this spot on the second edition 1:2500 OS map CVI.11 (revision of 1904), but not its predecessor (surveyed 1883). The size of the floor pad is comparable to that of the passenger shelter at Ingra Tor Halt.
As a building, its condition is very poor (being an utter ruin). As a ruin, it appears to be in a relatively stable condition.

Ordnance Survey, 2023, Mastermap 2023 (Cartographic). SDV365227.
