Full description
Wakeham, C., 2016, Report on an Audit of Archaeological Features and Structures Relating to Railways and Tramways on Dartmoor Phase 1, DR+T_GWRP_032 (Report - Assessment). SDV360397.
Drain at SX 55590 73346. Small drain running northeast-southwest under the track bed with granite lintel and wing walls on the lower (southwest) side. The interior measures c.0.35m in height (maximum) x c.0.6m width x c.5.5m in length. The higher side is quite discrete in appearance and has a sloping granite slab which projects a little way beyond the track bed. The slab may have been a later modification.
The drain appears to be in good condition, although it is being encroached upon by reeds.
