Summary

Stone-lined and stone-faced (granite) drain running southeast-northwest under the Princetown Branch track bed. The interior of the drain is c.0.55m wide and over 0.4m high with an earthen floor, seemingly marked with a series of ridges. The main, covered, section of the drain is c.5.1m in length.

Full description

SX 56017 72262. Stone-lined and stone-faced (granite) drain running southeast-northwest under the Princetown Branch track bed. The interior of the drain is c.0.55m wide and over 0.4m high with an earthen floor, seemingly marked with a series of ridges. The main, covered, section of the drain is c.5.1m in length. It has a c.1.6m long open channel on its lower (northwest) side, on the other side of fence DR+T_GWRP_037.
The drain is in fairly good condition, although the lower end is partially obscured by a veil of grass. Grass and other vegetation are also encroaching on the higher opening of the drain.
