Drain at SX 55575 71474. Stone-lined and stone-faced (granite) drain running southeast-northwest under the Princetown Branch track bed. The interior of the drain is 0.59m wide and 0.59m high. The main, covered, section of the drain is c.5.45m in length. The last c.0.65m of the upper surface, to the northwest, is stepped down by about 0.4m from the surface of the track bed. The drain has short, sloped, perpendicular wing walls on its lower (northwest) side, which extend outwards for c.0.6m, and a c.0.5m wide open drainage channel/gutter leading from it.
The drain is in relatively good condition, despite being overgrown. Bracken has partially obscured the higher opening and reeds have completely screened the lower opening. The drain is still taking moorland spring water, although the build up of reeds probably accounts for the build up of water along the drain's interior.
