Summary
Terrace of cottages dates to at least the early-mid 19th century, based on cartographic evidence, but may be older. Depicted on historic maps from the 1840s onwards, the south-eastern end cottage has been extended, but otherwise the footprint of the cottages is consistent with their original layout.

Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 523 (Cartographic). SDV359954.
The Tithe Map depicts the row of four cottages in this plot (523). Recorded on the apportionment as 'Cottage and garden'.

The late 19th century historic map shows 'Woodgate Cottages' to the south of Liverton Mill (MDV37250) on the north-eastern edge of Rora Wood. Cottages are a north-west by south-east aligned range of dwellings. Additional north-east by south-west row of sheds are shown to the north of the cottages.
