Pits 14-18: Five settling tanks form a cluster built into an artificially embanked terrace. Originally the tanks had dressed granite linings. Access for vehicles removing the linings has altered the earthworks leaving large openings and causing pits 16-18 to become conjoined.
Pit 14: Overall diameter 18 metres by 2 metres deep. Two edge-set stones on the eastern side mark the position of an overflow sluice and at the base of the retaining bank is the opening for a ceramic pipe from which the the settled slurry flowed.
Pit 15: Diameter 8.8 metres by 2.4 metres deep with disturbance on the eastern end although some of the granite lining blocks remain.
Pits 16-18: Extensively disturbed pits when they were robbed of their lining blocks. Original diameter was probably 11 metres with a depth of 2.3 metres
