Summary

Earthenware pipeline. Extant. Function not known. Vis=estimated -/-/1977-1979 (robinson, r. ). A line of pipes has been laid from the area of bala brook head to shipley clay works. These still show here and there along the line of the tramway and later just above the clay treatment area at shipley as they were laid, they are collared, light brown earthenware, length 64cm, internal diameter 16cm, thickness 2cm, length of collar 10cm. They were originally laid 1-2 feet underground but erosion has exposed ruins of several of them here and there. They are recent in appearance and may date from the 1923 clay workings at shipley.
