Summary

One of three huts associated with enclosure MDV28161 south-east of Tawcroft. This hut lies on the northern side of the settlement and appears to be associated with fragments of enclosure wall.

(19/06/1996) At SX 6271 9245, SX 6271 9249 and SX 6269 9250. Three hut circles forming part of a partially enclosed hut settlement. They each survive as a stone and earth bank surrounding a circular internal area. All the huts are of the simple plan type and two are attached to the inner face of an enclosure wall.
Hut B [SX 6271 9249]. A 1.3m wide and 0.3m high earthwork and single orthostat wall surrounds a 2.7m diameter internal area. This hut is attached to the inner face of the enclosure wall.

Possible hut remains visible on aerial photographs. This doesn't entirely match the layout of hut and enclosure shown by Gerrard on his 1996 compass survey of the site but does closely match the grid reference he quotes.
