Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
Shown as part of a group of three buildings recorded as Mill, House and Waste (plot 1275) on the Swimbridge Tithe Apportionment.

Rectangular building marked as a Corn Mill. The dwelling shown on the Tithe Map is no longer extant. A triangular millpond is shown just above the mill, fed by a leat taken off at a weir about 139m upstream. The head and tail race indicate that the waterwheel was on the northern end of the building.

A photo of the mill taken c.2005 shows the waterwheel to have been about 16feet diameter, probably a high breast shot. The mill, which is shown on the Tithe Map, owned by the Duke of Bedford and occupied by John Nott, has since been demolished.
