Full description

Rosevear, A., 2008, Devon Tollhouses, DV.MOD03 (Un-published). SDV351734.

Former toll house at Gara Bridge, now Gara Bridge Cottages. Thought to have been built in the 19th century for the Kingsbridge and Dartmouth Turnpike Trust in the style of a vernacular house. A two storey, rectangular stone building under a gabled slate roof with an enclosed porch/leanto. The building has been modernised and there are no external features to indicate its original function. Described as toll cottages in an advert [no date given].
