Summary

Clay settling pit? in middle brook valley. Remains. Could be the footings of building. Vis=-/12/1977 (robinson, r. ). This structure may be the footings or base of a building but in view of the proximity of china clay working may be a clay dry or associated structure. It lies 200m south of the old mine house where the valley of the middle brook makes a bend to the south east and lies on the right bank of the stream. It is a low rectangular bank roughly built of stone measuring 35' x 27'. There is a wall face on the downhill side but the average height is 0.5-1m and the whole structure is so rough it appears unlikely to have been a building.
