Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Buildings here are depicted on the late 19th century historic map; they are not shown on the earlier mid-19th century Tithe Map, so appear to date to the mid-later 19th century, forming part of the expansion of structures around this time to the rear of the buildings fronting onto the main street through Drewsteignton.

Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

Unchanged.

White, N., 2023, Former Stable 2 Hillmorhayes, Drewsteignton, 1-10 (Report - Assessment). SDV365847.

Assessment of the former stable building and outbuilding was carried out in May 2023. Constructed at some stage between 1850 and 1880, the stone rubble built outbuilding is sandwiched between other small structures to the rear of the former stable (MDV134727). It is square in plan and would also have had a loft. The narrow ruin of a former piggery lies to the west. The stonework of the second outbuilding is less neat than that of the stable and contains more grey limestone.
As part of the plans to convert the former stable into a dwelling, repair of the currently roofless outbuilding is proposed to provide a bat roost. This work will include consolidation and repair of the walls and introduction of a corrugated steel pitched roof and loft floor.

Ordnance Survey, 2024, Mastermap 2024 (Cartographic). SDV365834.

Remains of outbuildings depicted on the modern mapping.
