Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Building is shown for the first time on the late 19th century historic map. Not marked as chapel on the map but is though to have been purpose-built. Sits within a large plot accommodating three other buildings to the east of the chapel.
The earlier 1840s Tithe Map shows this plot [987 'Westesthay'] occupied at the northern end by a narrow rectangular east-west aligned building. This is not shown on this version of the mapping and presumably has been demolished.

Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

The early 20th century historic map shows the building, now labelled as 'Chapel'. It appears to have been extended to the rear (north), as the building now has a larger footprint on the map.

Dartmoor National Park Authority, 2005, Drewsteignton Conservation Area Appraisal (Draft), 32, Map 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV357555.

Former chapel noted as a historic building with modern alterations. Noted as a converted building.

Ordnance Survey, 2024, Mastermap 2024 (Cartographic). SDV365834.

Building is depicted on the modern mapping, AddressPoint data notes the name as 'Old Chapel'.
