Summary

Trial pit in middle brook valley. Extant. Vis=-/4/1979 (robinson, r. ). Two trial pits about 50m apart occur on the left bank of the middle brook about 300m north west of the wheelpit and about 100m from the stream. Each consist of a rushy hollow a few metres deep and wide with a spoil heap downhill. The lower of the two is cut through by the china clay culvert running from the knattabarrow pool to the glazebrook viaduct dries.(sx66se/326).
