Summary

Slot cutting stone, dockwell gate. Extant. Vis=-/5/1978 (robinson, r. ). A granite boulder near the dockwell gate shows the slot method of splitting, having two parallel lines of slots across its upper surface which for some reason have been left at this stage. Length 75cm, width 50cm, height 30cm. The slots are about 30m apart, each slot being roughly 13cm x 10cm deep. The stone lies a few metres south of the ring cairn at the dockwell gate and north of the cairn adjacent to it.
