Full description

Bodman, M., 2015, Mills on the Teign. A gazetteer of water-powered sites on the Teign and Bovey and their tributaries, 68 (Monograph). SDV360401.

Outer Down turbine house, Chagford SX 6803 8656. Visited by W. H. Worth in 1926, who recorded a Pelton wheel here driving a dynamo to supply lighting to Outer Down House. It was fed by a 10 inch pipe reducing to 8 inches, around 215 yards long, with a fall of 45 feet. Photograph dated 2011 included.
