A Pound is marked on the north side of Cowick Street at the junction with Buddle Lane.

Site of a toll house shown on the 1838 Tithe Map on the corner of Cowick Street and Buddle Lane. First documented in 1769 it was demolished following its sale in 1884 to the St Thomas Local Board of Health. It is recorded as standing 'adjoining the Pound in Cowick Street'.
