Full description

Lowe, M. C., 1992, Toll houses of the Exeter Turnpike Trust, 93 (Article in Serial). SDV40109.

Site of a toll house which was built c.1769. A plan of c.1806 shows it to have had a toll room and kitchen on the ground floor with two bedrooms above. Beside it were 'offices with a shed roof and loft over'. The toll house was moved to the eastern end of the Livery Dole Almshouses in 1828.
