Summary

A possible signal staff or flagstaff is marked on the 1838 Tithe Map and on the 1869 first edition 6 inch map, on the site of the later lighthouse. A flagstaff is subsequently marked on the 1904-6 Ordnance Survey map at the eastern end of the headland.

A flagstaff (F.S) is marked at the eastern end of Berry Head.
