Shoveldown N.W. cairns '1-6' between Stonetor Brook and the North Teign River. Six small burial mounds in line occupy the ridge, no doubt built by the inhabitants of the nearby settlements. One contains a central cist but like the others has been dug into. Four more are grouped together 100 metres further uphill and another lies 45 metres from the newtake wall.

The monument, which falls into five areas, includes eight round cairns and a cist situated on Long Ridge, locally known as Langridge, overlooking the valley of the River North Teign. These mounds form a cairn cemetery situated between two broadly contemporary stone hut circle settlements. Six of the mounds are circular in shape, vary in diameter between 4.1 metres and 6 metres and stand between 0.5 metres and 0.7 metres high. The remaining two mounds are oval and the largest of these measures 6 metres long by 4 metres wide and stands up 0.7 metres high. One cairn contains a cist which measures 0.83 metres square by up to 0.47 metres deep. The capstone, which once covered the cist, now lies 0.7 metres north-north-west of the cist. At least three of the cairns are partly surrounded by edge set stones indicating the presence of kerbs.
