Summary

Lysons mentions a deerpark at brightleigh. It appears on saxton's map of 1575, but shirley reports that it has been converted to tillage by 1867.(os). Shirley in fact is referring to brightleigh or brightley in chittlehampton parish (ss62sw/23) and it was lysons in 1822 recorded its past conversion to tillage (shirley).
