Summary

A bank is visible on images derived from aerial photographs of 2002 and lidar data as a circular earthwork enclosing an area approximately 12m in diameter, to the west of Brimstonedown, Gidleigh parish. The earthwork could be the remains of a hut circle of Bronze Age date, an outlier associated with a settlement recorded at Kes Tor a short distance to the south.

University of Exeter, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Unlocking Landscapes Project – validated data, ULDEV166 (Interpretation). SDV365999.

A distinct circular earthwork comprising raised bank and flat centre. Visible on Google Earth imagery dated 1/1/2002 but now wooded. Measures 12m across internally. Could this be a hut circle, an outlier of MDV6192?
