Curvilinear and linear banks, ditches and possible platforms or terraces are visible on images derived from lidar data as earthworks to the east of Carey Barton. The earthworks have been interpreted as evidence of a formerly more extensive settlement of possible medieval origin and might comprise field boundaries, garden plots and building platforms.

Possible shrunken settlement, the property appears to have been substantially larger possibly the remains of the mansion (MDV2767).
