Inspection chambers located at SX 45329 68890.

Clive Meaton, 2023, Gawton Mine, Devon- Costed and Prioritised Proposals for Capital Works for the Conservation and Management of Gawton Mine Scheduled Monument (Redacted Costs Version), 71, Figure No.7 (Report - Survey). SDV366131.

One of two Inspection Chambers which is located at SX 45329 68890 and is associated with an Arsenic Flue (Site No. 28) at Gawton Mine recorded in 2006. The other Inspection Chamber is Site No. 28.1. Two dog-legged returns with some brick elements were noted along its course during this survey, both surviving comparatively well, and probably representing the location of two former inspection chambers. The location of the Inspection Chamber is based on the Site Plan Figure No. 7. Other details: Site No. 28.2.
