A programme of archaeological work was undertaken along the route of a 13.5km long water main from Roborough to Yondertown. A previous geophysical survey had identified a number of areas likely to contain archaeological deposits.
A removed field boundary [1133], was identified in Area 9. This comprised a linear band of natural material 2m wide with a ditch [1142], 1.35m wide by 0.39m deep, cut to the east of it. A single course of stone facing survived on the eastern edge of the bank. The feature was identified in the geophysical survey.
