Full description
Robinson, R., 1977-1979, South Brent Parish Checklist Worksheets, Page 695 of 821 (Worksheet). SDV340722.
Quarry at Beneknowle. Extant. Slate. Tithe Map Field Number 4230 shown on the Apportionment as "Quarry Plot", Tithe Map Field Number 4233 shown as "Quarry Orchard". It is clear from its size that this was never a commercial quarry but it is mentioned in a lease of 1719. The quarry is small of slate lying immediately behind Beneknowle Cottage and now has a barn built in it. This is a small stone single storey shed that was not present on the tithe map of 1843.
