Child, P., 2000, Countryside Stewardship: Waterhouse Farm, Exbourne (Correspondence). SDV366740.

A small building by the track leading from the farmhouse to the upper farmyard. Originally built of red cob, the north and east walls have been rebuilt in stone. It has a corrugated iron roof. Its original function is unclear but appears to have last been used as two shippens. The building is considered remarkable, however, because of its age. Its three roof trusses are of a 17th century type with the halved and notched collars used in this period. They are not thought to have been reused but to be original to the building. Agricultural buildings this old are relatively rare in Devon which makes this structure unusual.
