Structural survey of a linhay submitted with planning application for proposed conversion. The linhay is about 150 years old, built to a reasonable standard to take loads required for agricultural use and still in reasonable structural condition. It has stone and cob rear and side walls, clad with corrugated sheeting at upper floor level, under a corrugated sheet roof. The ground floor is of compacted earth. The northern four bays are open fronted with three timber posts to which timber joists supporting the upper floor are bolted. The southern two bays have been enclosed in stone, with some brick, at ground floor level with doorways in the front and rear elevations and also through to the open-fronted section. The dividing wall appears to be of breeze block. There is also a window in the front elevation. The upper floor appears to have remained open, until enclosed with corrugated sheeting as there are several brick pillars supporting the roof. The roof structure comprises seven A-frame trusses.
There is a small stone and cob extension at the southern end of the building, also with a corrugated roof and cladding at the south gable end. The ridge level is slightly lower than that of the linhay.
Ordnance Survey, 2026, Mastermap 2026 (Cartographic). SDV366713.
A range of buildings, aligned north-south to the west of the house.
