Site visit 8th August 2005. Milestone 20m west of the entrance to Bircham Farm. On the south side of the road, against the wall by the field gate. Inscribed 14/BARNUM. It is a small, tombstone type milestone set up c.1879 to commemorate the closure of the turnpike. Now worn and easily overlooked.
