Milestone marked as, Torrington…8 M.S. A benchmark is also indicated. The stone is shown to the south of its present location suggesting it has been moved.

Site visit 12th April 2007. Milestone on Brandis Hill, about 1/4 mile to the south of Petrockstowe, on grass verge on west side of road. Dates to the c.1820s. Inscribed, 'To/Torrington/8/Miles'. OS benchmark on face.
The stone was caught by a verge cutter in September 2007 and the 'To' is now missing.
